Low Level Laser Therapy (LLLT)

Laser hair therapy is the use of low-level laser treatment in pursuit of restoring healthy hair and scalp. Low-level laser therapy has been used for nearly 20 years for hair growth purposes in a multitude of forms. In 2007, laser hair growth therapy was recognized by the FDA as an effective method of thickening hair due to male and female hair loss. Most mainstream laser devices today are FDA cleared for effectiveness and are regulated as an over-the-counter medical device.

Clinical Laser Hair Therapy:

Clinical Laser Hair Therapy has been used since the year 2000 for patients looking to regrow hair under supervision in a clinical setting. At Advanced Hair Solution we offer a Clinical Laser Hair Therapy program that has proven its effectiveness.

The clinical program typically lasts for 9-12 months, including twice weekly laser sessions and a scalp evaluation every 3 months. Additionally, a Certified Trichologist will make recommendations on what products to use for maximum progress and will personally oversee your program.

Different wavelengths for different benefits:

100 BLUE LEDs - Antibacterial and purifying action.

Energy light penetrates bacterial barriers and destroys their DNA. Treatment indicated for problems of itching and redness of the scalp, dandruff, seborrhea or dermatitis.

100 RED LEDs – Hair-loss protection.

Action LED technology strengthens the hair follicle prevents further falling out and stimulates hair regrowth. The increase of ATP (adenosine triphosphate) is stimulated, which allows the bulb to increase its cellular activity - hair is stronger and more robust. Treatment indicated for thin and brittle hair.

100 INFRARED LEDs - Revitalizing and vascularizing action.

The metabolism of the hair bulb is stimulated, increasing the microcirculation of the scalp. Treatment indicated in case of problems of thinning and androgenetic alopecia.

How does a low-level laser light regrow hair?

The low-level laser light absorbs mitochondria and increases cellular respiration, and induces the activation of transcription factors via reactive oxygen species.

Not surprisingly LLLT is able to stimulate and preserve hair follicles in patients with androgenetic alopecia and other hair loss disorders. A peer-reviewed study published in 2009 led to FDA clearance of a laser comb device for hair re-growth.

The hair follicles cannot be "brought back from the dead" but significant improvement in hair density and quality can be achieved if treatment is started before hair loss has progressed. Preclinical studies using LLLT to stimulate ex vivo human follicles in culture and accelerate mouse hair re-growth have also been reported.
